New resource on child labour (USA)



The American Federation of Teachers is pleased to announce the
availability of Lost Futures: The Problem of Child Labor.  This
educational resource is suited for middle school students from grades
6-10. The resource contains a 16-minute video that includes a brief
history of child labor in the United States, a description of child labor
around the globe including the story of Iqbal Masih -a freed child laborer
and martyr from Pakistan- and how American schools have joined in the
fight to end child labor. The video is accompanied by a teacher's guide
with background information, lesson plan suggestions, and a list of
additional resources.
