[hr-education] Defending the rights of the disabled

My name is Rudecindo Vega.  I am the Associate Director of Transparencia,
a Peruvian civil society organization that is dedicated to promoting civil
society participation in observing the Peruvian elections to assure that
they are transparent, free and fair and to promoting civic
education/participation in general.

I am writing to the hr-education listserv because I am interested in
obtaining some assistance/advice on the topic of defending the rights of
the disabled and existing education programs related to this topic.

I am specifically interested in:

1.  Experience, worldwide, with designing/implementing programs to defend
the rights of citizens, as well as educate them and others, when it comes
to: participating in municipal and national elections, being treated
fairly in the workplace.

2.  Any suggestion on organizations that fund programs focusing on
developing legislation as well as designing and implementing programs
(education as well as other) that benefit the disabled: who they are, what
they fund, how we can contact them.

I look forward to hearing from any of you that can give me advice on the
