[hr-education] Welcome to the Global Human Rights Education list

Dear list members,

On behalf of HREA and the University of Minnesota Human Rights Center, I
would like to welcome you again to the Global Human Rights Education
listserv. We currently have almost 300 subscribers - individuals and
organisations involved in human rights education from over 50 countries;
we expect this number to go up over the next weeks to come.

In this message I will briefly go over some administrative information
after which we will start posting the first messages to the list.

To send a message to the list you have to send it to the following e-mail
address: <hr-education@hrea.org>. Note that some time might go by before
your message is distributed to all subscribers to the list, since this is
a moderated list, which means all messages have to be read by one of our
team members. Messages posted to the list will be archived and will soon
be made available via e-mail and the World Wide Web.

The working language of the list will be English but we will post messages
in any language that uses the Roman alphabet. We also encourage
non-English speakers to submit contributions. We have distributed
announcements of the list in French and Spanish for colleagues who do not
read or write English.  We will also try to translate particularly
worthwhile messages into French and Spanish occasionally. Send a blank
message to <hr-education-espanol@hrea.org> or
<hr-education-francais@hrea.org> to receive instructions on how to sign up
to the list in Spanish or French.

If you know of colleagues who do not know about the list yet, please
forward the information about the list to them. To subscribe send a
message to:

Leave the subject line blank and write in the body of the message:

subscribe hr-education

If you have problems subscribing or unsubscribing, please send a message
to <owner-hr-education@hrea.org> to reach a 'real' person who will assist
you.

We look forward to a vibrant exchange of information and experiences and
hope that this medium will serve as an additional resource for all those
working in the human rights and education field.
