CiviConnections summer trainings on historical inquiry with community service-learning (Chaska, MN, July 11-13)

Two workshops will be offered in July 2007 to prepare trainers in the
CiviConnections program. CiviConnections is a program funded by National
Council for the Social Studies (NCSS) and the Corporation for National and
Community Service for 3rd through 12th grade social studies teachers to
develop projects that link local historical inquiry with community
service-learning. Interested teachers must apply in pairs and agree to
present one workshop to at least 5 other teachers in your area within the
following school year. The grant covers all costs at the training (hotel
room, meals, training materials, meeting room costs). Participating
teachers or their districts must cover transportation costs to and from
the trainings. CiviConnections project staff Rahima Wade and Lynne
Boyle-Baise will lead the trainings at the Oak Ridge Conference Center in
Chaska, Minnesota on July 11-13 and July 13-15.
