MA in Gender and Peace Building at University for Peace (Costa Rica)



Dear Friends,

The Gender and Peace Studies Department at the University for Peace is
proud to invite you to attend the Master of Arts in Gender and Peace
Building. The programme will take place on the University's main campus in
San José, Costa Rica from August 2006 to July 2007.

Primary attention will be given to the study of gender and peace through a
multidisciplinary framework on the following topics:

* Foundation Course in Peace and Conflict Studies
* Gender Studies and Peace Building
* Quantitative and Qualitative Research Methods
* Gender Security and Peace Building
* Cultures and Learning from Violence Towards Peace
* Human Rights Before During and After Conflict
* Gender Mainstreaming During Peacekeeping Operations and
Humanitarian Assistance
* Gender and Nonviolent Transformation of Conflict
* A Gender Analysis of the Environment and Sustainable Development
* Peace Processes - Conflict Analysis, Resolution and Transformation

Due to the international nature of the Programme, English is the language
of study.
