Dear Human Rights Educators, I work for a US-based human rights education program called the Global Concerns Project. We develop and distribute human rights themed classroom materials and work with teachers and administrators to implement the curricula in US classrooms. I wanted to spread the word about the wonderful resources we offer to schools free of charge. The Global Concerns Project works in US classrooms to increase students' understanding of current international issues. The Global Concerns Project inspires debate and dialogue in schools by providing classroom materials, coordinating guest speakers, organizing workshops, and creating global concerns after school clubs. Curriculum themes include HIV/AIDS (focus on Uganda), Hunger (focus on Ethiopia), Women's Rights (focus on Pakistan), Child Labor (focus on Bangladesh), Education (focus on Somalia), and Water (focus on Haiti). The Global Concerns Project connects students to the international community and creates opportunities for research, reflection, and action. All participation and materials are available at no cost. The Global Concerns Project is an education program of Concern Worldwide, an international humanitarian organization committed to the relief, assistance and advancement of the poorest people in the least developed countries of the world.
