Dear Educators, Project Spera, an educational non-profit that works to educate and empower Bay Area youth through international affairs curriculum is expanding its Professional Development Program for Northern California educators. Join the Spera Global Educators Network for the 2005-06 academic year, and make teaching about contemporary issues easy. The Global Educators Network is a unique opportunity to receive assistance and support from consultants in integrating contemporary international affairs into your teaching—in any discipline. Spera consultants work with you to identify your teaching goals and needs for the year, ways to mainstream global issues into what you are currently teaching, and then bring the resources to your doorstep. This model recognizes the constraints teachers face—time, standards, knowledge of international affairs– and offers a service that eliminates these barriers. You will also benefit from a range of other services as a network teacher – access to speakers, assistance in the classroom, help with grant-writing, and access to issue briefings on international topics. All this (and much more) for the low cost of $200/year (package deals are also available). If you are interested in learning more about our services, we would be happy to meet or talk to you briefly to describe the program. Please respond to us by email at murshed@projectspera.org, hernandez@projectspera.org or info@projectspera.org. You can also call us at 415-292-7421 to set up a time to talk. You can learn more about Project Spera through our website: www.projectspera.org . We look forward to hearing from you!
