Thanks for this. As you said, the results reported are, unfortunately, far from surprising. In fact, I've seen worse -- such as a high percentage/majority not even knowing that the First Amendment protects freedom of speech or religion, etc. This kind of ignorance is, I think, a real basis for alarm. One of my major outside-the-university service projects is assisting the Ohio Center for Law Related Education with various civic education programs. In the future, you may wish, and certainly would be well qualified, to provide this kind of service yourself.
