Dear friends, The UN Association-USA East Bay is pleased to announce a celebration of Black History Month with the screening of the award-winning film on Ralph Bunche. Bunche was the first African American to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, in 1950. Bunche also attained the highest position held by an American in the United Nations, as Under-Secretary-General for two decades. You are warmly invited to attend. The program will take place on the Berkeley campus on Thursday 10 February, 7 pm in Dwinelle Hall room 155. We will be fortunate to have Professor Charles Henry present at that time,to both introduce the film and respond to questions. Please note on the attached flyer the numerous community organizations and campus departments that are supporting this program. In this unstable time, it is more than ever incumbent upon civil society - academia and grassroots alike - to join forces in efforts to strengthen Rule of Law as promoted by governments through the United Nations. We look forward to seeing you there.
