What did the rest of the world see during the Iraq war?

Rights and Humanitarian Law and the School of Communication's Center for

FIFTH ANNUAL HUMAN RIGHTS FILM SERIES

Our next screening is:

CONTROL ROOM, Mon., Oct. 18, 6pm, WCL Rm. 602 (duration 1 hr, 24 min)
A chronicle providing insight into the international perception of
the Iraq war, provided by Al Jazeera, the Arab world's most popular
news outlet. See aspects of the Iraq War that the U.S. media never
aired.

Special Guest Speaker: NADIA BILBASSY-CHARTERS, AL-ARABIYYA NEWS
CHANNEL

Please note that in observance of Ramadan, light fare will be
available.

The Human Rights Film Series shows films on cutting-edge
international human rights issues, as well as films that discuss
using media as a strategy in human rights campaigns. Screenings are
held at the law school on Mondays and at Main Campus on Wednesdays.
Each film is followed by a discussion led by an expert on the topic
of the film.

The remaining WCL screening is DEADLINE, where a special panel of
distinguished experts will discuss Prisoner Rights and the Use of
Film in Advocacy Campaigns, on Mon., Oct. 25, at 6 pm, in Rm. 602
after screening a short clip of the documentary film. The full
screening of this film will be on Wed. at the Main Campus.
