Job Announcement

Amnesty International USA seeks a Director of Training.  Based in
Washington, DC, this position reports to the Associate Director of the
Membership Mobilization Department. The Director of Training is
responsible for developing, managing and evaluating all aspects of AIUSA's
national training program, designed to provide human rights activists with
the skills and knowledge needed to become effective advocates.  The
director is responsible for developing an Annual Training Plan that
includes regional conferences, state and area meetings, leadership
development meetings, an Annual General Meeting and trainings focused on
national human rights priorities and campaigns.  The director will lead
and manage the training program team; deliver trainings; lead and
coordinate other staff and activists who deliver trainings; lead the
development of training modules, resources and materials; explore and
implement new training programs and approaches and maximize the use of
technology in the delivery of training opportunities.  The incumbent will
provide vision and guidance throughout the organization regarding training
and activist development initiatives.

A Bachelor's degree is required and a Master's degree is strongly
preferred, along with a minimum of five years of experience in managing a
training program.  Experience with instructional design, training delivery
and evaluation required. Must have the capacity to apply leadership and
management skills to the training function. Demonstrated experience with
the use of technology to enhance the training function, including online
training approaches desired. Demonstrated teambuilding skills necessary
Excellent oral, written communication and Microsoft Office skills
required.
