I also have been reading the comments and have really like this discussion. Having been raised in a teacher household (father primary and secondary school and mother college instructor and currently school health nurse). I get concerned that all the responsibility for HRE lies with the teacher. I hear this a lot from my dad. That the failure of the student rests on the teacher. Within the school there are support people - the bus driver, the school secretary, the cafeteria worker, crossing guards, school nurse, after school program teachers (sports and clubs) - I think training materials and resources should be available to help them support the teachers. Additionally, I find within my school system here in Columbus Ohio US - that parents are also to support the teacher in the education process. (I also know there are different levels of committment.) There needs to be materials and resources developed that teachers can hand out to parents to assist them with HRE strategies.
