Deputy Director
Field Office
Mid-Atlantic Region

AIUSA is looking to hire a deputy director for it's Mid-Atlantic Field
Office.  The deputy director will have primary responsibility for activist
training and education activities with Amnesty members throughout this 6
state region.  S/he will be responsible for ongoing coordination and
consultation with our national training program and will implement an
annual training plan in the region, organize our regional conference,
volunteer leadership development meetings, campaign trainings, coordinate
the work of field organizers, and oversee communication with membership.
Successful candidate must have at least five years grassroots organizing
and training experience with demonstrated and progressively increasing
responsibilities.  Must be familiar with the needs of membership based
advocacy organization including former management of activist recruitment,
development, support and servicing systems.  The job is based in
Washington, DC.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

§     Implementing annual training and membership education plan in the
region.
§     Identifying non-Amnesty training opportunities for Amnesty activists.
§     Coordinating the work of field organizers.
§     Ensuring that field office activities are being communicated to
national communications outlets, highlighting activities and membership
accomplishments to be profiled.
§     Responsible for servicing membership activist interests in at least
one of the regional state.

Additional qualifications:
Candidate must have a commitment to progressive social justice.
Ability to work with grassroots members, their volunteer leadership
structures and in a team work environment.
