16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence Campaign

Hello list members!

Women Make Movies, a multicultural, multiracial, feminist media arts
organization located in New York, is proud to present a very special
collection of films and videos that shed light on violence against women
and help situate such violence within the context of human rights. As we
have witnessed the power of documentaries to raise awareness and compel
action, WMM is offering organizations participating in the 16 Days
Campaign a very special discount on all titles related to violence against
women for use in 16 Days related events.

Featured in this collection is Lourdes Portillo's extraordinary film
SENORITA EXTRAVIADA, a groundbreaking investigation into the mysterious
murders of more than 300 women in Juarez, Mexico. Portillo relies on
testimonies of the families of victims as she unravels the layers of
complicity that have allowed for these brutal murders to occur. SENORITA
EXTRAVIADA brings issues of violence against women to the international
arena and is one of the many powerful documentaries that serve as
invaluable tools in helping create a global culture that says no to
violence.

Please review the information below and contact <orders@wmm.com> if you
are interested in using Women Make Movies films as a tool in your 16 Days
