ERC-L is a bi-weekly e-mail newsletter about new resources for human
rights education and training on the web site of Human Rights Education
Associates (HREA). The Electronic Resource Centre consists of a Human
Rights Education Library, a Calendar which lists courses and trainings
worldwide, a Human Rights Education Links section and Databases of Human
Rights Education Funders, Material Developers, Organisations, and

## FEATURE ##
Select Filmography on Human Rights
This annotated "filmography", a bibliography of films, lists over 80 films
and videos on human rights, human rights issues and international
relations. Most films are available in different languages. The films are
produced by a range of producers and distribution companies, including
Hollywood producers, independent filmmakers and grassroots organisations.
Some listed films are appropriate for public showings, others are suited
for use in classrooms, workshops or trainings.
The "filmography" is organised around the following themes: International
Human Rights: Overviews; Basic Decencies and Participatory Rights; Basic
Human Needs, Security Rights, and Humane Governance; International
Approaches to Implementation; National Approaches to Implementation; NGO,
Corporate, and Individual Approaches to Implementation.

## HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION CALENDAR ##

* Breaking Through the Vicious Cycle of Humiliation: Strategies for Racial
Justice Through Human Rights Education
Dates: 2-3 September 2001

Focus: This one-day workshop will be organized during the World Conference
Against Racism (WCAR). The workshop intends to launch a debate, which will
envision a new, a different world, where equality of all human beings will
be achieved in a human right culture in which respect for dignity and
equality becomes a code for living.

knowledge on observation of human rights and international humanitarian law.

* Regional International Training Programme in Human Rights for
Representatives from National Independent Institutions in Eastern Europe,

Focus: An overview of international human rights law and practical training
in reporting procedures and complaints handling. The course will also
provide an opportunity for the participants to exchange ideas and
experience from their work at national independent institutions with fellow
participants from other states undergoing similar political and social
reforms.
