ERC-L is a bi-weekly e-mail newsletter about new resources for human
rights education and training on the web site of Human Rights Education
Associates (HREA). The Electronic Resource Centre consists of a Human
Rights Education Library, a Calendar which lists courses and trainings
worldwide, a Human Rights Education Links section and Databases of Human
Rights Education Funders, Material Developers, Organisations, and

## FEATURE ##

It's About Me and Human Rights

This student textbook, intended for an optional human rights course for 
grades 6 and 7, helps children to understand what human rights are, what 
they are threatened by and what could help protect them. Through various 
creative tasks, students are asked to apply the concepts to tier own 
family, school and larger society. The textbook was developed by the Jaan 
Tõnisson Institute in cooperation with Tallinn Pedagogical University and 
is accompanied by a teacher manual.

* Seminar on Violence Against Young Women
Dates: 21-27 May 2001

Focus: Purpose of this seminar is to raise awareness further and attention 
to the cases of violence against young women and to provide a forum for 
exchange of ideas, cooperation and networking between youth organisations, 
women's organisations and other  institutions engaged in dealing with the 
issue. The working languages will be English and Russian with simultaneous 
interpretation.
