Child-related projects in Latin America

Dear Sir/Madam

Healthlink is an organisation that has been working in the field of health
communications since 1977. We have partners in Africa, Middle East, Asia and
Latin America. The Latin America programme has projects with organisations
in Guatemala, Peru and Brazil. Our partners in Guatemala have been
implementing a three-year project in the last 10 months with funding from
Comic Relief and our support. The project aim is to enable vulnerable,
socially and economically marginalized young people in Guatemala to access
essential information on sexual health (including HIV) through the
development of an innovative methodology, which consists of combining street
theatre, group workshops, youth peer education and advocacy. This strategy
enables PRODESCA-Atz'anem K'oj to implement front-line culturally specific
HIV/AIDS education with groups who have no access to information and do not
publicly discuss sexual health.

The Clowns have a website on www.proyectopayaso.org that can now be visited.
I would like to take this chance to establish contact with you, in order to
share experiences and talk about this. Also, I would like to ask you a
question related to project funding. Healthlink Worldwide is seeking to use
this innovative health communications model in the Central American region
(precisely in northern Honduras) to promote the rights of adolescents and
women. We have written a funding proposal to Ford Foundation Mexico. Could
you indicate any foundations and organisations worldwide that specifically
fund health prevention programmes targeting children and adolescents and are
likely to provide funds in the coming year?

Thanks for your help and best wishes for the New Year
