UNITED NATIONS Press Release 22 November 2002 xxxxxxxxxx UNITED NATIONS EXPERT ON SALE OF CHILDREN TO VISIT FRANCE xxxxxxxxxx The Special Rapporteur on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography, Juan Miguel Petit (Uruguay) will visit France from 25 to 29 November at the invitation of the Government. Mr. Petit will examine the situation of trafficking of children into and through France for prostitution and other purposes, as well as the incidence of child pornography and domestic child sexual abuse in the country. His visit will include meetings with governmental and non-governmental organizations and survivors of abuse; visits to children shelters, and meetings with the media. His mission will include a visit to the children's desk at Interpol in Lyon at the end of the week.
