On the Record for Children is a weekly news digest covering the process
leading up to the Special Session of the General Assembly on Children.
It will also be produced daily during the Session itself. The
publication is distributed free of charge by email (see below for
subscription information), and is also posted on the NGO Committee
website (http://www.ngosatunicef.org). Please visit the website for back
issues.

On the Record for Children is a comprehensive source of information on a
wide range of topics related to children and the Special Session. It
monitors governmental and nongovernmental activities relating to
children worldwide, and includes news from regional bodies, campaigns,
the NGO Committee itself, and a round-up of weekly resources such as
websites and events.

Items from a current issue include:
* Drafting On Outcome Document Set to Resume April 29
* Prospects For Financing Children's Programs Boosted By Monterrey
* NGO 'Commitment Chart' Will Monitor Government Pledges On Child Rights
*Opinion: Children Should be Dancing!' by Naomi Lightman, Young People's
Press and On the Record for Children Young Editor

We will produce regular weekly issues during April and in the run-up to
the Special Session. We will also cover the meeting of the Children's
Forum prior to the Special Session, and produce daily coverage of the
Special Session itself. We hope that you will want to subscribe to the
newsletter. To subscribe to On the Record for Children, send a blank
email to: childrights-subscribe@topica.com. You will then receive a
one-click request for confirmation.

We also encourage you to submit any ideas, comments, letters and even
articles, which will be considered for publication. For more information
or to submit comments and contributions, contact Colleen Malone at
colleen@advocacynet.org or 416-598-0358. On the Record for Children is
produced by the Advocacy Project, a partnership organization assisting
community-based advocates. For more information, visit our website,
