Media and Human Rights

This course equips journalism students, journalists, editors and other media professionals with the knowledge and skills to report through a human rights framework. Through a combination of classroom hours and round table discussions with editors and journalists, participants will gain an understanding of press freedom, freedom of expression, gender and reporting, reporting in conflicts, digital privacy and security, and how international human rights norms, standards and principles provide a framework for reporting.
