| Description |
|
This is a set of advocacy tools to support Eastern and Southern African countries in their legislative and policy reforms related to HIV. These tools are of interest to parliamentarians, government officials, members of the judiciary, lawyers, civil society organisations, people living with HIV, and others interested in implementing human rights norms in the context of the HIV pandemic. There are six tools: 1. "Instruction booklet" gives an introduction to the background of the tools. 2. "Guide" provides background information on the human rights-based approach to HIV and analyses the international human rights obligations on states. 3. "Checklist" provides questions for assessing a state’s legal and policy response to HIV/AIDS. 4. "PowerPoint" contains a model presentation for target audiences. 5. "Flipchart" contains a graphic and concise version of the PowerPoint. 6. "Compendium" provides excerpts and full-text versions of treaties, legislation, policies and case law related to HIV in Eastern and Southern Africa and other regions. There is also an accompanying website and a CD-ROM. |
