Description This guide was written to help UNICEF field staff understand the reporting process for the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of All Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). It includes specific information on the proceedings of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women and provides instructions for field staff preparing reports for Committee meetings. It divides the CEDAW reporting process into eight steps, from the first step, of ratification of CEDAW by a state party, to the final step of implementation and follow up to concluding observations by the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women. The third part looks at how UN Country Teams can collaborate and provide support to the reporting process. It also contains an annex on the status of reporting in each country party to the Convention.
