| HREA publishes human rights learning materials, research reports, and directories and serves as a clearinghouse for human rights education and learning materials.
Electronic Resource Centre for Human Rights Education The Electronic Resource Centre (http://www.hrea.org/erc/) is a unique website with on-line databases and documents for human rights educators and trainers, which HREA has maintained since 1998. The Library currently contains over 5,000 full-text documents, including bibliographies, curricula, textbooks, research articles, training guides and international and regional human rights treaties. The Calendar lists upcoming courses and trainings, between 100 and 200 each year. The Forums section includes the archives of main HREA listservs and the Databases section a Directory of Organisations involved in human rights education; a comprehensive listing of Human Rights Courses and Programmes offered worldwide; an extensive Annotated Bibliography of human rights education materials that have been produced during the UN Decade for Human Rights Education; and a Global Directory of Human Rights Educators (see below). Finally, the Links section is an ever-growing collection of links - currently linking to more than 2,000 organisations. Over the past three years additional learning materials, in particular in Arabic, French, Spanish and Russian, and to a lesser extent in Chinese, have been added. E-mail newsletters announcing new materials and courses are distributed monthly in English, French, Russian and Spanish to over 30,000 subscribers.
Global Directory of Human Rights Educators The Global Directory of Human Rights Educators is a password protected database on the HREA website. The aim of this directory is to provide a resource for individuals, communities and organisations that are looking for assistance with their activities or want to exchange information. Through the directory one can identify trainers or curriculum developers, explore potential partnerships, or share your interest in certain thematic areas. The directory currently includes over 1300 educators from 155 countries.
HREA also hosts and administers various listservs via which timely information about various human rights issues is distributed.
