United Nations Conference on Teaching Peace and Human Rights
Special Focus: Teaching Peace

March 29 & March 30, 2012

This conference will bring together teachers, administrators, future teachers and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) for a global dialogue on integrating peace and human rights education into the classroom. Teachers will dialogue with their colleagues from different parts of the world to learn more about what is happening with peace education and human rights.

Educators in Karachi, Pakistan; Chennai, India; Burnaby, Canada; Mexico City, Mexico; Manila, Philippines and the US will discuss what they are doing and work together on teaching peace.

Participate in workshops on Thursday March 29 at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia or at Adelphi University and then interact via videoconference with your teacher colleagues around the world from the United Nations on Friday, March 30th.
