Description This handbook presents a framework of global minimum standards for education in emergencies and post-crisis reconstruction. It was developed by an open network of UN agencies, NGOs, donors, practitioners, researchers and individuals working together to ensure the right to education in the above-mentioned situations. The handbook provides standards, indicators and guidance notes that articulate the minimum level of educational access and provision to be attained, from natural disasters to complex emergencies such as armed conflicts. The standards are designed to be used by governments, other authorities and humanitarian workers. The handbook can also be useful for emergency preparedness and in humanitarian advocacy.
