This booklet is designed to provide readers with a snapshot view of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), and to raise awareness of the rights to which women are entitled under the Convention. Readers can use the booklet to bring about concrete improvements in the lives of Caribbean women. The booklet is written in a question-and-answer format, which lends itself for use as a discussion aid and for research, as well as for general reading. A listing of relevant websites and other resources has been provided to assist readers in identifying additional resources on CEDAW and other tools designed to achieve women's equal rights. The full text of the Convention is included at the end of the booklet. |
