After many years of having provided training to Plan staff around the world, HREA and Plan International formalised their partnership this year. In January a three-year agreement between HREA and the newly established Plan Academy was signed. Under the agreement, HREA will provide professional development for Plan International’s 9,000 staff worldwide, including courses focused around children’s rights, gender equality, and communication & advocacy.
As part of the partnership, HREA and Plan will also jointly develop a virtual “community of practice” for child rights practitioners.
Initial demand for courses offered by HREA through the Plan Academy has been overwhelming. In 2013, 213 Plan staff and partners successfully participated in our courses in English, French and Spanish.
