MA in Interdisciplinary Gender Studies at Lebanese American University

The Lebanese American University (LAU) in Beirut, Lebanon has just launched a one-year MA in Interdisciplinary Gender Studies. This program blends academic research, intellectual rigor, and social activism to equip students with the practical and theoretical knowledge needed to challenge gender inequalities. Gender studies at LAU is ideal because Lebanon allows academic freedom to tackle sensitive issues related to women and gender – unparalleled in the region. This program focuses on the real-life relevance and applicability of an interdisciplinary education by integrating gender across a range of fields. The MA in Interdisciplinary Gender Studies is run by the Institute for Women’s Studies in the Arab World (IWSAW) in collaboration with HREA, combining academia and activism to address issues of gender equality, human rights, and social justice.
